Project Overview:

MetaPersonæ_Archetype-1.2 is a multimedia piece featuring 8-channel surround sound and visual art. It crafts fixed media with the object-based audio system and a UnrealEngine video game. This work was presented in 2025 Electronic Music Midwest (EMM) on April 4th, 2025.

The work explores the metaphor of uploading a physical being into a digital realm—an initial space where nothing yet exists. What is familiar transforms into the alien; original sounds evolve into a digital living entity, continuously deconstructing and morphing in real-time. Amidst this vastness and emptiness, "the body" becomes a living paradox. Is it a physical presence, a virtual avatar, or a combination of the two?

Evolving from the earlier versions that incorporated live performance, Archetype 1.2 removes the physical body entirely on the stage, leaving only immersive sound and the visual elements displayed on screen - an initial virtual space where the body may, or may not, have been uploaded.
